I Bought my Tata Indica Vista Quadrajet Silver, took delivery on 30th October 09, from Prerana Motors, Bangalore.
The Selection journey was like this.
Had made up my mind on Indogo CS earlier looking to upgrade from hatchback to a sedan, ofcourse the Indigo CS is not the best sedan available, but still you don’t get any sedan for 5 lakhs. Just to let you know my Budget was 5 lakhs.
Almost decided, I was suggested to try the Vista, and the moment I test drove vista I forgot the CS and decided I needed a pepier and modern day engine.
Ofcourse I could have afforded the Swift and Ritz, but somehow I was bent towards tata, mind you this is my first tata purchase, had a zen earlier. No doubt Maruti suzuki service and spares are easy to find and low on pocket, but tata is not too bad these days.
My family members were awed by the space in the vista, it is indeed like a sedan in terms of space, certainly more than indigo CS, comprimising on the boot, but that is okay.
I had test driven the Ritz and Swift DDIS and Vista Quadra, tell you the truth not much difference in driving all three of them, Overdrive has named Ritz as best out of the lot, but for me the tail lights and rear shape are a big turnoff, and overall I did’nt want the cramped spacing which maruti provides.
Lot has been said about the interiors of Vista, it is personal choice for me it is better than swift, might not be true for other person. It is good sturdy car, you feel safe in it. The engine performance is excellent, slight turbo lag in 1 & 2 gears, but that is true in competition cars. The cabin in very silent.
Wished they would have had the option of abs in top end model, I have opted for quadra aura.
All is all a true value for money car. Heard the service center of prerana motors at Hosur road is good, with a Customer relationship manager who is patient and looks after your issues.
Driven 500 Kms till now, getting an average of about 15 kms per litre in city traffic, with 50% AC usage.
