A mix bag!

I purchased Indica Vista petrol version Aura in March 2009. as I said its a mix bag, all depends on your budget. Here are some serious problems, which you will have to live with.

  1. If you are driving in a bumper-to-bumper situation like the one witnesses everyday on WE in Mumbai, then you will experience that brakes becomes hard all of a sudden and car not responding. Upon contacting Wasan (Kandivli) and Tata representative, they told me that Vista has hydraulic braking system.

So, you will need to press full clutch before braking. You will need to be with really swift reflexes. Full clutch does give effective braking if you ar on first gear, but not when you are on the 2nd or 3rd. No where Tata’s have disclosed this. I have learnt this after getting a hit on the bonnet.

  1. It looses power and car will not respond with full press on accel;erator. This happens when you are on 4th gear and around 40 km speed and you have to slow. If you have to pick up from here, thne you will have to go back to 1st gear and then only car will pick-up.

It has some of the best features in its class, unmatched by Swift or i10.

  1. Fully loaded version around 4.5 lacs.

  2. Hydraulic steering, adjustable seats/ steering, lots of space, stable drive,

I get just around 10 km per hour in Mumbai city / expressway traffic condition with AC. It is worth the buy, but you will have to live with above two problems.

I checked with some other owner and they also have similar experience. I would like to know from ohers if they have similar experience.
