XETA - Can anyone help me !!

I bought XETA in the month of May 2007. The first service is over. Recently while I was driving on the high way, I drove into a pothole [ Which are common after heavy rains] , immediately the ’check engine’ light came on. {As per Tata instructions if ’Check engine’ light glows continuosly we are supposed to intimate them and rectify the problem ASAP}. I got worried called the Tata service centre and they asked me to bring the car to their service centre, which I immediately did. After cheking up they said that the entire wiring etc are computerised [ sensors fitted] and somewhere the software showed error which was rectified & all Ok. After few weeks once again my car ran thro a pothole and immediately the ’check engine’ light was on, had to take my vehicle to the service station, once again it was rectified. They said water had dropped on some inter connecting wire and thats why ’check engine’ lights were on. Now its OK. The service guys informed me that - if the engine gives a peculiar sound just like diesel engines unlike the smooth sound from petrol version - then it has to be cheked or if the A/C is not performing OK - then it has  to be checked !  But for me the engine & A/C all were OK. The other reason they say is  its special sensors fitted all over which can be the reason for ’check engine’. Is this true?  Can some one give me the answer why the ’Check engine glows’ in regular intervals. Is it due to some major problem which the service guys have not revealed to me. Kindly help me out if you have the answers for the same.
