I am from Chennai. I had a VSNL dial up for 5 years before I decided to go for broadband a year back. I kept getting frequent disconnects. Last month I lost my connection and they took 14 days and repeated complaints every day to get it right. Their customer service will very sweetly give you a complaint number and when you call up the next day, they will sweetly tell you that the complaint has been closed without verifying from customer. I even wrote a letter to their GM technical at their Chennai office, but I got no response. I was wondering if I am dealing with a TATA company or a fly by night operator. As my subscription was coming to an end, I asked them if I could go back to dial up as I did not want to loose my mail ID. But they said it is not possible. One week before the expiry I called their helpline and asked for a renewal for one month. They said they will send somebody and noted my address details. Nobody turned up!
If anyone is thinking of buying VSNL broadband.... DONT!!!!
The VSNL guys are spoiling the TATA name.
