I have been a user of Tata Indicom Broadband since February and within just 3 months I am thinking of terminating the connection. I have never seen such a pathetic customer service in my life.
Nothing is co-ordinated, the fields engineers are always unavailable and the customer service keeps on giving false promises.
The trouble started right from taking the connection. The installation charges were Rs. 2755 and Rs. 1000 was security deposit. The marketing excutive who had come to my residence informed me that the security deposit is waived and I just have to pay Rs. 2755 which I paid in cash. Once the guy was gone, I had to call up repeatedly for getting the connection since there was no response at all from their side!
After 20 days of this, I finally got the conn. and thought that my troubles are now over. Alas! This was just the beginning. I got a bill next month which included the installation charges of Rs. 2755 again and when I called up the customer care, I was told that the amount has not reached them and I will have to pay. After repeated arguments and phone calls and after disonnecting my connection for 4 days, finally they could track the money and my connection was restored. There were no apologies, no refund for the downtime because of their mistake, nothing whatsoever!
Well, I thought alls well that ends well. Now there are no disputes so I can surf happily. But, no, I was wrong once again. There were constant connection problems and I had to call customer service daily. None of my problems have been solved in less than 3 days and some have taken as much as 7 days!
In this month alone, the connection was down for 20 days and whenever I call up customer support, the answer is just give us 24 hrs. more or it will get rectified next morning. One service guy even tells me that we have manpower shortage! Even today, I cannot connect to the net from my home PC and I have got the same reply from customer service that we will correct it soon! :(
So, please think twice before you choose to take Tata Indicom connection, else you might end up paying more telephone bills to call up customer care than you pay for the connection!
