I have a TATA wireline for a long time now, and theyve been charging 0.36 paisa for MB and they actually INCREASED those rates once while we had it.
Ive been waiting PATIENTLY for the rates to go down but its not happening. I wait to see what happens now that 3G is FINALLY here.
Their service is EXTREMELY prompt - they come within a day of calling them if something goes wrong - Mr. Ajoy Gupta, you are doing a good job.
Their call centre is prompt, but you have to go through that telephone maze, and I extremely dislike the manner of the a s kissing executives - they get trained to behave that way - EVERY time *I have to take down a complaint no.- why cant THEY remember it or just not give me one?
And theyll ALWAYS end the call saying "Anything else I can help you with, Sir?" - this is HIGHLY irritating - if I wanted something else, I would have TOLD you, wouldnt I?
But kudos to them for doing the actual difficult job itself as well as can be managed - keeping wires up on the lampposts on an Indian street is no laughing matter, and dealing with all the headaches that follow - once again, I hope they pay the line men highly.
Our routers got hit by lightning about I think 3 times, and they replaced them all, at their OWN cost! Someone stole the wire once, and once a cyclone damaged - each time it was replaced at their cost!!
However - I STILL want the rate to go down, the Net is getting more and more exciting every day and its been a long time at this rate.
Airtel apparently is the only ISP with UNDERGROUND cable, so all this tech support simply wont be necessary, but when I checked on the web, they are still MUCH more expensive.
But the MAIN thing I want to write about is - recently I checked my account ad found Rs. 100 going away to some "online backup" which I never took. I called them, the call centre guy gave me instructions to remove the renewal on the thing.
So - next day, I checked, I found they were still charging me Rs. 300 for 3 months of this online backup! Called again - complaint raised after wandering around in their phone maze, said the last access to the thing was on a particular date in December when I wasnt even in town!
I had gone on holiday! Got a call, guy said "Aee baare reverse kore dicchi", as if hes doing me a favour! - THEY CAN CHECK THEIR LOGS TO SEE THEIR WAS NO ACCESS FROM MY ACCOUNT ON THAT DAY!
Checked again later - STILL hadnt been reversed, called, cus. exec. said "will happen in 72 hours". So - I haven checked yet, but I hope its happened.
Someone INSIDE the company obviously did this, hoping I wouldnt notice - this is DEPLORABLE.
In March, when my account expires, Ill probably be saying bye bye, and maybe everybody reading this should too.
