I applied for a TATA indicom VSNL broadband connection by filling up an online form on 12th of July 2006. Their executive visited my home on the 13th, explained me everything, showed me the various plans they have to offer and got an application filled. They had this promotion going on in which they were offering zero security deposit and zero installation charges if one pays four month’s advance rental. I decided to pay four months advance rental totalling to Rs.3704/- I paid them a cheque of amount Rs. 3704/- on the same day and signed up the application form and provided whatever documents they wanted. On the 18th of July the amount was debited from my account. They promised me a connection within 7-10 business days. till date(08/24/2006) I have not got the connection from them. I tried contacting the through telephone & email. everytime I wrote them an email, I never recieved any reply. Every time I called them they always said I will get the connection in the next couple of days and apologised for their negligence. Still nothing happened yet. Once they called up to say that they are going to refund me my money as I wanted a refund, which I never did. I still keep calling them every now and then and try to get the connection or atleast get the money back. Finally after so many days, I put up the case to consumer online resource and empowerment center ( http://www.CORE.NIC.IN) and explained them how I am being harassed and cheated by TATA INDICOM-VSNL. I am yet to get justice. I hope anybody who is a mouthshut follower would be careful before dealing with them.
On the same hand after being fed-up with TATA INDICOM-VSNL, I applied for a broadband connection from Airtel, and they provided me the connection in 3 business days.
