Sub: Most pathetic customer service ever seen
I have made a payment of Rs 500/- for the Fixed wireless phone on 12/8/04 by cheque no. 690627 (HDFC Bank, Bandra). At that time I asked your sales representative Mr. Wilbur Fernandes to keep my application on hold as I wanted to see the black phone that you have very recently introduced so that I could decide whether to take the black phone or the white one.
I was told by your customer service representatives on 56998282 that I would be able to see the phone at the INDITEL outlet opposite Barista in Santacruz. I went there yesterday only to find out that the outlet had been shut some days back. Today when I called back on 56998282 I was again advised to go to the same outlet to see the phone. When I told them that the outlet has been shut I was given another number 56105555 and told that the people on this number would be able to help me. When I called on this number I was again told to visit the outlet opposite Barista. None of your employees seem to know that the outlet has been shut.
I also spoke to an Assistant to the TL by the name of Mr. Amit Chauhan and he gave me the number of a dealer in Bombay who he said would send his salesman with the black phone so that I could see it. But the dealer said that the black phones are not available. Mr. Amit had given me his phone transfer number as 27JL1 which I was told is wrong when I called up to speak to him. Mr. Swanand told me this and I then left a message with him for Mr. Amit Chauhan that I had called and he should get in touch with me. I also left my telephone number but was told that no outgoing calls can be made from your call center.
I requested each of the customer service representatives (Ms. Anita, Mr. Stallone, Mr. Abhinav and Ms. Anuradha) to help me by sending one of your sales representatives over to my house with the black phone so that I could see it and decide if I preferred the black phone or the white one. But no one was able to help in any way.
I am quoting a paragraph on customer service commitment from your website. I think this is only for show because nothing of this sort is being done at your company.

Neither of the customer service representatives at the call centre agreed to transfer the call to the supervisor or team leader. I had to explain the case to each of them and still they did not transfer the call to their supervisors. Finally Ms. Anuradha agreed to transfer the call to Mr. Amit Chauhan who again was unable to be of any help.
I am absolutely shocked to see a TATA company working in such a pathetic manner. I have decided to never use the services of TATA Indicom because of the trouble you and your customer service representatives have made me go through. I have spent over three hours trying to explain the matter to various people but no one seems to be in a position to help.
I request you not to deposit the cheque I submitted as I have asked my bank to stop payment of that cheque. If the customer service is so pathetic before I have got the connection then it can only get worse after I make the payment.
EVEN MTNLS GARUDA WILL HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS I FEEL. Will never ever talk to an Indicom employee again.
