Hi,
I am based on Bangalore and using both Tata Indicom FWT Landline as well as mobile.
 FWT review:
The underlying technology is CDMA, same network as used by mobile, phones are from LG, having battery and power chord. For FWT, I faced once billing problem - they put me in their default internet plan Rs1500 per month for unlimited use. later I folowed up for 2 months and that got resolved. Now I am facing battery problem with FWT set as battey talktime has reduced to a large extent ( TIP: Dont put your phone always on AC power, charge it only when battery is low and then disconnect from power ).
Voice is clear - internet is 115Kbps - faster than normal dial up. One major problem is YOU CANNOT SEND FAX FROM THIS PHONE - Tata indicom hasnt mentioned this fact before selling - I praise Reliance FWT as they at least state this fact clearly in their website. Initially I had problem in using internet using this phone. Though they provide data cable, but that cable is for desktops serial port - so if you are using laptops, you need another serial to USB adapter(they dont provide this - you have to buy from market ). You need to configure your connection to COM1. Have no other problem in FWT- rates are very cheap than BSNL - subscribing topoffs like STD Jumbo and SMS Jumbo, STD rate will come Rs1.49/min and sms at 30paisa.

I have taken Nokia 3105 CDMA mobile - and connection is prepaid / voice is much clear than any GSM phone - I used spice and airtel for last 4yrs. The call rate is very very cheap - I admit - you get 100% talktime on every recharge. No service charge deducted like GSM operators. and they have two plan in prepaid - the normal persecond plan has advantage of per second billing, while second plan TalkMore has tata to tala call free, and call to any mobile across state is just Re1/ min. Roaming is also fine - and internet browsing is free from mobile.
