The Pains of TATA Indicom

The Pains of TATA Indicom*

Having a pre-paid telephone connection with Tata Indicom can be rather painful and frustrating. Its almost always a hunting expedition to try and find Refill / Topup vouchers. There have been instances when their own galleries are unable to provide.

Accessing the customer care numbers is tricky. As soon as you dial in(12525) the voice options are read out in English. After you make a selection the voice options are repeated in Marathi or other local languages now you have to make the selection a second time. By this time you have already spent five mins on the phone trying to talk to the customer service executive.

After this you have to wait for ages for a customer service executive to talk to you, If you are lucky that is, many a times after all of this they hang up on you. So you try desperately a hundred times and then you finally get in touch with zombie with a fried or missing brain who will manage to curdle your brain to the point of explosion.

The customer support is highly inefficient and lack basic product knowledge. They are not helpful only confused and confusing.

So they launched an online recharge facility but wait a min. No credit cards allowed. Ohh and they absolutely don’t have the plan you want … By the way all content on the website is old and expired Schemes and plans have changed.

So the website says and I quote from URL https://tataindicom.com/t-prepaid-card.aspx also see image

“Changing from a prepaid to a postpaid connection."

Depending on certain conditions, it is possible to change a prepaid connection to a postpaid connection. Once a subscriber changes from prepaid to postpaid, he is no longer required to purchase a prepaid card to keep his number active. He will then to issued a bill at the end of every month for his actual usage.”

But of course the helpline number does not know anything about this and they ask you to go to the gallery. The gallery defies your eye sight and intelligence and says there is no such scheme, you can only move from postpaid to prepaid not the other way around.

Damn. I hate this service. I am waiting for number portability. My advice to you all do not buy Tata Indicom.
