This postpaid disgraced me to the limits!

I was a fan of Tata Docomo prepaid. I had been using it since it`s inception years in Chandigarh.Liked it`s network, recharge option online, using internet banking, better customer care...


Then what happened?


The Day which turned my opinion!


I had taken up assignment of spreading wellness to masses. It needed cheaper outgoing call rates, preferably unlimited.


I had kept my BSNL prepaid outgoing on all India BSNL numbers free with Rs 500 voucher for 30 days. It was going on well.


But in the month of August last year, I received Telemarketing call on my Tata docomo prepaid No 8090405121(Feel, how special is this vanity no !) that I can opt for unlimited calls on any network for Rs 899 plus taxes. If I opt for the postpaid connection soon, my SMS also will be free!(as told by Miss Riya, Kanpur).


I got carried away!


Very next day my money was collected by their representative.But instead of Rs 850 he took Rs 1000 from me as he did not have change. However I was given receipt for Rs 1000(M/S Ritti Services, Kanpur, 21 Aug 12)


It took 3 days, that too with a lot of follow ups to get my connection active as my payment did not reach to the concerned place!

I tried to clarify from the local customer care about my free sms and unlimited calls. I was reconfirmed. But after two days I called Mr Dev of Kanpur only to get unpleasantly surprised that my sms is being charged! I was outraged, but just requested a SMS pack and carried on.

After 10 days of my connection my outgoing and GPRS including SMS was debarred without informing me by any means! Called the customer care who denied to give me the reason for it and told me to visit the nearest Tata Hub!


What a disgrace!!


I had already made all my friends and relatives about this number to be my primary number! Those days were very hectic days at my job side. However I managed time to visit the nearest hub, 10 Km away only to know that I need to visit the main Hub in Civil lines, 5 Km more!


I did that only to know that my services was suspended as I crossed certain hours and I was mis using the number as a commercial operator!!


Shame on you Tata Docomo!


If you did not have guts to provide unlimited calls, why did you launch the scheme! Why I was not told by your any of the franchisee about the restrictions on outgoing calls?


I was in a fix!


I was then told that it will resume by evening and was given the contact land line number. The suspension was not lifted, not my calls even and I had to visit the hub again.


As it was the limit of tolerance, I gave written request for full termination of the connection on 12/9/12 but the connection was terminated on 08 Oct 12 and I had to pay the rentals for the full period without any outgoing and incoming facility!!


I decided not to pay any money and escalated the matter to the Appellate.The appellate in turn requested me to have patience and give them some time to respond. I accepted it with grace and kept quite.


On 25 Jan, I received a threatening call from an advocate in Delhi that I had to appear before a court as I had ignored many reminders to pay the amount for my number.


I simply deposited the money as I was unable to bear more disgrace from Tata docomo.


I did numerous complaints later only to read diplomatic answer in the form of sorry and no explanation! They clearly said that they do not have any compensation for my sufferings in which I was overcharged and lost my vanity mobile number.

If you do not want to become a `bonded labour` of Tata docomo please do not go for the Tata docomo post paid.
