Guess tata want also those people to use the phone for they actually are made for making calls. And the phones need to be user-friendly with a quick menu system
Well that’s what the Samsung NEO gives you, extremely easy and quick to use menus together with crystal clear sound clarity and great reception.
I actually bought this mobile for my DAD basically with the two years incoming free scheme from TATA. I though it was a steal especially for folks who just want to let the world know that they can be reached anywhere anytime. I wanted to buy the TATA Ace but apparently this piece was completely sold out . But to be frank enough I think I made a good choice.
Without wasting much of your time, let me get into the details of this little wonder. This phone is really sleek in terms of its size and weight. I guess this is the lightest super functional phone in the TATA indicom stable. It has some real cool features that include:
1) Insta Vibrate: Basically gets you into the Silent mode (vibrator only) by pressing the “0” button for 2 secs. This feature is very handy for those quick meeting modes. For SAMSUNG NEO users who had problems locating where the (vibrator+tone) modes (as I had one) here is how you do it tip: Go to Sound – Ring Tones – Call and choose Low +vib/ mode. and presto your done. In case you want high+vib all you need to do is to choose Level 5 and then click the side arrow i.e the ringtone shortcut in the center and ur done.
2) Super phone book with speed dial – You can store upto a whopping 2000 entries and mind you with a speed dial for each number. Say for a number stored at location 56. so you enter 5 then press 6 for 2 sec and voila the number is dialed. So basically u dial the first set of number followed by the last number pressed for tow seconds.
3) Quick shortcuts – allows you to assign shortcuts for commonly used phone functions. Like my dad never used to send SMSs bcos he used to find it painful to locate stuff on the phone. With QS all he has to do is dial 1 and then press the “select” key to get into the “write SMS” mode. Kewl aint it.
4) Extremely clear and loud ringtones/earpiece volume - man this is the best feature. Although it doest have a speaker phone, on the high volume mode this phone feels like as if on a speaker phone. Really clear and loud.
5) Airplane mode – not many of the smart phones have this feature. It allows you to continue working on your phone minus the network services .
6) Very crisp display – though not big is really crisp and really quick to response to user input.

Well these are some of the feature I feel are really useful, albeit it also come with a scheduler, stop watch alarm, world clock etc that are good add-ons.
The only drawback is that it takes a while to charge around 2 – 4 hours. But again there seems to be no indication that its fully charged. Not that I have come across, unless you folks there want to help me here.
Well all said and done, I like this phone for its simplicity and performance. Go ahead buy it ! (I get 500 bucks for every phone SOLD :p)
