I will extract my notice sent to Tata Teleservices:
On 4th September you disconnected my Tata Photon+ internet connection citing the reason that I had crossed 80% of my credit limit of Rs.3000/-. When called your customer care and informed them about my excellent payment history, the line was restored reference number 2786. Then again the line was disconnected. I made payment of Rs.2688/- on 5th and byyour mail dated 7th sept 2011 you have acknowledged receipt of payment of Rs. 2688 against my TATA service Number on 06-SEP-11.
However the line was not restored and I raised a complaint docket no:2790 on 7thSeptember. Your customer care representative apologized and the line was restored only at2.00pm on 7th Sept. But again the line was disconnected & I could not connect so I called customer care again & complained vide docket no: 2791, the line was restored. But to my dismay again the line was disconnected & again I called customer care docket no: 2792, 9th September at 3.00pm & line was restored at 5.00pm. One representative of yours called form 04066570530 & apologized. But now again at 5.45pm the line has been disconnected & when I called customer care I was informed that though I made payment & was within credit limit there was a system error as it was not `recognizing’ payment made by me. This week I have called your customer care no less than 10 times & I have not been able to use internet for long periods of time due to your incompetence in maintaining a system that accounts for payments. I have been put to great inconvenience & my work has been affected. Your technical incompetence has put me to great loss due to inability to use the net & mental torture of having to repeatedly call you for redressal. The result is that my net is still not working. You are liable to compensate me for such inconvenience, loss & mental agony in monetary terms. This apart you have to ensure that my service is restored & works uninterruptedly until such time I identify a competent & customer service oriented internet service provider who is sensitive to customers woes.
I place it on record that I have never ever defaulted in a single payment nor delayed payment of my bills & your disconnection was done when my bill was Rs.2688/- & unbilled amount was merely about Rs.150/- or so i.e when I did not even cross my credit limit of Rs.3000/-. Based on my credit history I have even been given 2 Docomo connections with credit limit of Rs.7000/-. I have also been offered some hare brained scheme called Tata photon League presumably due to my good payment record which I am sure you will deny. While so your action is highly irresponsible & uncalled for. This notice is sent as, at the time of the last call I made to your customer care, I was informed by your representative that calling there will not solve anything & I had to state all these facts & send a mail, this infuriated me. Even your own employees admit your total incompetence & technical ignorance. I even tried calling the nodal officer, one Sripriya but the standard response is some music, then message saying attending to other customers, then disconnect. In all the circumstances stated hereinabove, I hereby call upon you to:
restore my service with immediate effect;
pay a sum of Rs.50, 000/- as damages for deficiency of service due to repeated disconnection of my service
pay a sum of Rs.10, 000/- towards mental agony for necessitating me to repeatedly call your customer care at 1800 266 121 for redressal
Should you fail or neglect to do so I shall be constrained to initiate appropriate proceedings both civil & criminal and in such event you alone will be responsible for all costs & consequences arising therefrom. And I am aware that notice of criminal action is something that you may not take seriously but let me assure you that I will ensure that a few officers of your company will regret it & understand its rigous while passing through the criminal justice system of this country if you are ill advised to ignore it.
