This is not a review only for TataPhoton+, its overall impression and observation of all the service providers available in india. So think before switching between provider. You are going to get nothing after switching too.
Its all game of all the service providers may it Tata or Airtel or Reliance ot MTS. And more or less there are same complaints regarding speed for all wireless internet services.
This game is of small & capital MBps, mbps, KBps & kbps. Small mbps/kbps means megabits/kilobits per second and capital means Mega Bytes/KiloBytes. All these providers mention all values always in small letters and we get fooled away by 3.1 mbps.
Actually, When you get 3.1 mbps, this is nothing but 310 KiloBytes per second. Even 310 KiloBytes also we never get in reality. There is nothing we can do here are even if we switch the provider we are in trap again for sure.
My Tata Photon has same issue and on complaint they give resolution time of month or more and when we really forget about the complaint, Silently we will receive an email that issue is resolved. Which is never resolved. They once sent engineer at home to check the reality, he also said there is very slow connectivity. He captured some screenshots from https://speedtest.net, using some app from his cell phone he found out what tower I am using, whats the signal strength etc etc and went back. Nothing happened, I called Customer care, they told me to directly contact that the engineer who visited your place to know the status. I called him couple of times, he asked me to do all possible FALTOOGIRI of deleting cookies, reinstalling dialer and blah blah blah. Nothing worked. Issue is pending as of today and I left trying to call him or tata photon CC.
As many people suggest including customer support guys of the provider, delete temp directory, %temp%, run commands of netsh, deleting cookies, uninstall and reinstall dialer is all useless and has no positive results except headache of loosing all your important bank or login data cookies and saved data and wasting time.
As far as we are in India a 3rd world country, where corruption is at its peak and business men pay huge amounts in getting the licenses so finally they are lack of funds when it comes to really putting up the infrastructure to provide real good services. And secondly, people are paying the bills even if they dont get desired connection so their business of making money is done.
As of today, I am getting the speed of 0.020 MBPS means 20 KBPS when I select the server within india like mumbai or Banglore. And when I select US or Europe based server, too much of latency and lower speed than this. And I am the biggest fool paying 1100 per month for this service.
*BUT DO I HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION ?
REALLY IS THERE GOOD SERVICE PROVIDERS IN INDIA TO PROVIDE BETTER WIRELESS INTERNET WITH DATA CARDS ?
ARE WE GOING TO GET BETTER SERVICES AT ALL IN THIS LIFE ?
OR THIS BUSINESSMEN ARE JUST GOING TO RECOVER THEIR BRIBED AMOUNTS FROM US?
As an Indian being in India, we should learn to live with it. We are helpless.
