Recently I had taken a Tata Photon Plus Post paid data card connection. I was surprised to see that the device installation ( Model No. EC156 from Huawei ), does not show the Connection statistics, viz, Usage time, Connection speed etc. I am aware that they had this feature in the earlier devices and installations, and I doubt they had purposely removed this to keep the customer in dark and cheat them. This is the basic feature which every service provider should provide to a customer, to have an idea about the usage statistics, especially when the billing is based on the usage. The alternate method proposed is to check the same in the online account being created in the website.
However I observe this is not accurate and also the status is updated only after 48 to 72 hours of usage and it does not show anything on the connection speed while in use. I advise Tata to provide the facility to the customer to see his usage statistics. Other issue being faced is the connection speed, which I am getting regularly less than < 200Kbps, even though I am eligible for 3.1Mbps ( or at least ~1Mbps ), till 6GB download.
If this feature is not provided and speed is not improved, I am going for a disconnection and refund, since I don’t want to get cheated simply !!!!!!
