The Greatest Mistake of my Life - Tata Photon Post Paid.To invest in a Tata Photon Post Paid connection is one of the biggest mistakes I ever committed.
The product failed to deliver on multiple occasions when I needed it most - and in the cities that have been advertised as having good network.The billing cycle was very inconvenient - and their follow up in case of a 24 hour delay for whatever reason was a minimum of 10 to 15 calls per day.
The worst thing was when one wanted to convert the post paid connection to pre paid. They took all the information, photo id, address proof etc and then... the connection failed to work. Consequently I junked the device and took another service provider. The biggest mistake I did was to give them my "genuine details". They began using them to harass me. Phone call after phone call for some outstanding amount that they did not bother to inform me at the time of conversion. These calls started 6 months after the connection had been junked. Naturally one ignores such nonsense.
Then they started sending legal notices for Rs.300 and change outstanding and harassing further. We were to present ourselves at New Delhi in front of a Magistrate for this amount outstanding - which they never informed us till 6 months after the connection.
Pure harassment and Torture...
MORAL OF THE STORY:
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, go for a Post Paid connection from Tata Tele Services. I am told by my friends that the situation is even worse with Reliance...
Keep away from Post Paid services from any service provider - however attractive their schemes. You will be putting yourself into their hands for ever.
If you must - go for prepaid where you will be in control of your liability - it may cost a bit more but that is the price you pay for your freedom.
