Tata Photon + Rocks

I am a traveling editor for an Online portal and my job depends on fast net connectivity. At home I have Airtel Broad band and Youtelecom broad band connection. While on tour I was working with a Reliance data card.

As the Reliance service was poor, I was on the look out for a better service provider. One evening I walked into a Tata Indicom dealer and asked for a Photon+ connection. I was told that after the formalities, it would take 2 days for the activation. I paid Rs.3500/- and completed the formalities.

It was a real pleasant surprise when someone walked in the next day morning and asked to install the Photon connection.

Tata as a brand name needs no introduction. It is a household name and the company has been around for more than 120 years. The service setup of Tata - when it comes to Photon is really impressive.

Photon+ is a small thumb sized USB device which apart from the Broadband modem - it also has a pendrive built in. This drive has the Huawei Access manager software loaded in. So once the drive is installed in the device, you can use this device on any desk top or laptop without having to remember the settings. You just double click and it installs the Access manager in any computer you attach this device.

The connect speed is around 2.2 Mbps when it is in HSIA(High Speed Internet Access) mode and drops down to about 100 Kbps when it defaults to lower speed mode in remote areas.

I checked this net connection speed through a 3rd party independant Internet connection Speed meter here: https://bestnetcraft.com/bandwidth-meter.html

I have been ujsing Photon+ in the last one month and I am happy with the service, access speed and overall user experience.
