I bought the new TATA Photon+ approximately 4 months back and now I am realising the extent of foolishness that I have committed by purchasing this TATA product. Many of my friends were advising me to keep myself away from this product and still I went a little too emotionally to purchase TATA Photon+. The first few months it gave excellent speed(read as~700kbps). But as all my other friends have complained, I too am getting a maximum of 100kbps speed from a unit which is capable of delivering as much as 3.1Mbps.! Download speeds hardly go above 20kbps and a 20mb file would take hours to download!
Please go for Airtel Broadband, which I was using(the new location where I stay currently does not have their service) and had absolutely no speed or support issues. The connection I had was 1Mbps with Airtel and I have never had a day when the speeds went below 1Mbps. The speed was always around 1.10Mbps.! If at all there is any scheduled system upgrade, latency or server down issues, the Airtel team will promptly inform me via an SMS. They also had courtesy to look into any other requirements from the customer(such as a switch in the plan etc) and ensure that issues are closed to the satisfaction of customer.
Here in TATA, theyll call me and tell me that the issue which I raised is closed to my satisfaction! Where in the world did they get the confirmation that I am satisfied with the resolution. If I tell them that I am not happy, then theyll smartly ask me to explain the issue and while I am explaining, theyll disconnect the call and send me an email stating that the issue is closed to my satisfaction.
Dear friends.TATA is fooling & lootting public. If you want good broadband service in Bangalore, then get a BSNL or AIRTEL broadband(wired) connection. Both are good, but the former is not soo good in terms of customer support. But atleast you can trust BSNL and AIRTEL.
