I bought photon+ connection on 08.04.2009 and using it ever since. I paid 3500 rs for the modem. installation was done by the tata indicom service engineer on next day (09.04.2009). it took about 15 mins to install the software and configure the modem. Once activated, I haven’t face any problem regarding connection and services. The tata indicom service center called on 23.04.09 and 06.05.09 to check my deatails and the latest bill.
I have choosen rs 750, time based plan which gives 3600 mins free use every month. The billing is simple with no hidden charges. At first I was unable to understood the details of the bill. When I contected the service center, They called me at park street tata indicom support center and explained the bill to my satisfaction.
The connection speed is not that fast as they claim(3GB) but I feel it is more than enough to do most of the net based jobs. I used this modem inside a fast moving car without any problem. I used this USB modem at a small town ( Gaya), where tata indicom doesnot have photon service. There also it worked well but at slow speed.
The software keeps a record of connection time and data transferred, by which a user can find out the details of uses in a particular date/month.On line account with tataindicom to monitor bill and its on line payment facility is available. I recommend this product to use in and around kolkata.
