I applied online for broadband connection with Tata indicom when I was on a short visit to Chennai recently in the second week of April 2006. I had to fly back to Sydney on 21st Apr and applied on 18th, as my son urgently wanted broadband connection at home. On 20th itself I got my connection. One of Tatas indicoms franchises (EssaSoft if I may remember the correct spelling) visited my residence along with tata indicoms engineers and got the connection. My sons PC was an old P1 without an ethernet port. The franchisee sent in the ethernet card and port for a fee of Rs.750 and fixed it in no time. My son started browsing on 20th evening itself. Till now my son had had no problems with Tata indicoms broadband, he says.
Quick and good service. I had spent totally less than Rs.3000 for the six month connection. When compared with the ordeal I had with Optusnet and Telstra in Australia (Australian internet provider started billing me promptly from Dec 2004, though my connection was not ready before Feb 2005), the service given by TATA indicomm was excellant.
Kudos to TATA indicom broadband. Keep up the good work.
