Well.. Here is my experience with Tata Indicom Wimax. I am staying near airport road. I wanted to go for Airtel 2Mbps connection. But unfortunately it was not available at my locality.
After a few days I got a call from Tata Indicom sales person (not sure how he got my number) offering 2Mbps Wimax connection. Since it is wireless, I asked him twice regarding the speed it can offer. He told, "Dont worry about the speed". So, the offer was, if I pay 2 months payment in advance the installation fee is waved. But silently they will deduct security deposit in the first months bill.
I was happy that I got it installed within two days.
For the first few days it worked fine. But later I should keep trying for at least 1 hour to get connected. . It was pathetic. More over I should be extremely lucky to get a speed of even 300 Kbps.. I was getting around 150Kbps.. what a blunder for 2 Mbps connection !!!
I raised several complaints. No improvement.. And the most irritating part is: They do not have toll free numbers for their WImax customer care.. And they will easily take around 30 mins to do the same stupid troubleshooting..all with ur money!! Later they introduced the so called toll free number for Wimax customers. It is another blunder.. When u call that number it will reach pune customer care and those guys very happily provide another number which is not toll free.. What a joke..
So, the bottom line is, if you want a peaceful mind, not to opt for tata indicom wimax...
