I have been TATA broadband customer close to 3 years now and watching these years their service has become bad to worse.
I have many things to say about their bad DSL connectivity, down time and pathetic customer service but let me first share this recent ongoing traumatized experience that I am having with Tata broadband.
My previous unlimited Plan was Power ON & ON 256 Kbps for which speed was pathetic, around 30 Kbps download and 10 Kbps Upload. So I requested them moving me on to my regular volume based 2Mbps plan but they said that is not possible.
One cannot move from Unlimited or Time based to Volume based under newly designed Tata broadband plan structure.
I have almost given up because of their new plans /rate cards which don’t really suit what I was looking for.
As I was thinking of no more recharge and disconnection, these Tata broadband representatives were calling me now and then to recharge the account.
Finally considering my intensive work over internet which would probably suffer, so I decided to recharge for one last time with Rs 1000/-(minimum amount) and for which I got only Rs 906/- as balance amount.
My work is mostly in night hours so I decided to switch to hourly 399 Plan in which one has to pay Rs 19/hr and can subscribe to Unlimited night plan(9PM to 9AM) for Rs 299/- Monthly with alright Speed of 512Kbps.
So when I hit subscribe button for night unlimited Plan – Rs 299/- got deducted from my account. later on I received an SMS and Email confirming Plan is been activated
I started working as usual but end of second day I thought of checking my usage meter and then what I see is I have been continuously charged on hourly basis against what actually it supposed to show 0 usage charges for time between 9pm - 9am.
Dropped an email No response! So in the morning called customer care billing Dept, she told her regular line – “Sir, whenever such deduction happens in night surfing the amount will automatically credit to your account on next day morning”.
So waited for another day but nothing really changed, so I dropped another few emails – but Absolutely NO RESPONSE!
Can you believe Tata communication doesn’t have a toll free number but anyways as I was totally annoyed so I called
After complaint was registered, the representative told me back end team will contact me with 72 hours, which means 3 more days I cannot browse! I felt like trapped and totally cheated.
At one point of time you don’t feel like saying anything these front end customer care representatives, as they are always in search of all nice reasons to hang up as quickly possible so that they can achieve their call targets. Also act bit dumb so that they forward complaint to their backend team.
My question is meantime if you cannot credit back money to account at least rectify the problem, so that I can carry on with my work.
May be I am expecting too much from these people who work like Indian Govt organizations and dont bother about consumers.
I hope they dont make Mr. RATAN TATA do their part of JOB, that would be really SAD!
Not really sure when this problem will get resolved with stupid faulty billing system!
Now I can understand why there is so much negitive reviews on Tata broadband my mistake!I should have run through web before subscribing to this Night Unlimited plan. Some blogs says it got fixed in week time and some haven’t got it fixed in weeks.
Just kept my figures crossed and will call them up again & again so that I can utilize some amount on this stupid recharge I knowingly did before I finally say TATA BYE BYE
This is just an attempt towards creating awareness over such frauds and cheating done to innocent consumers
A unified voice is always much louder and stronger which will heal consumers sufferings at least to some extent.
