I have high regard for the TATAs. Having enjoyed my experience with using the TATA SKY services my belief has been strengthened.
I
have been an user of broadband services since 2000 starting off with
SIFY and then HATHWAY and now TATA Indicom. Needless to say I have been
fortunate enough to see improved services and bandwidths along the way.
In between I have had a bad experience with You Telecom as well. Thats
another story to tell(read my review for You Telecom).
Coming to the review of the service:
1.
First I was able to easiy figure out whom to call on their website, it
is pretty well organized and the various rates and packages are clearly
explained.
- The person attending my call was polite and
explained me in details the required information and promised that the
connection will be setup in 2 days.
- True to their promise I
did received a call within 2 days from the installation personnel to
setup a time for the installation.
- The installation personnel finished their job in less than an hour
and I was pleased to know they had expertise in setting up a wireless
network using my wireless router. The person diligently went about the
setup without making any fuss about having to setup the wireless router
even though it was not part of the job.
- Coming to the speeds and quality of service. Its been excellent
througout these 6 months. The occasional downtimes(three to be exact)
occured but were promptly attended to and surprisingly the monthly bill
showed a discount for days when I did not have the connectivity - cool.
- My only grouse with the service is the bill payment part. They dont
have any online payment facility(what crap, an ISP does not have an
online payment facility), But that is how it is. As a redemption they
do send a person across to collect the money which spares me the effort
of dropping a cheque and hoping it reaches their office in time.
All in all a good ISP to get service from. If only they had online payment I would have given them an "Excellent" rating.
