This is first time im going to write about some product..usually when I see something like this come as an email to me I will delete it without any hesitation. But this time I thought I need to tell my experience to all my friends in this country and make them to have a second thought before going for the service provided by "TATA Indicom BroadBand".
Being Indias one of the top most company in all major areas, I was really surprised by seeing the service provided by the company to its customers. When I came to this city I thought of going for Sify Broadband connection and even I enquired about there schemes. The people to whom I contacted informed me that I will get connection only if it is feasible for them in terms of cabling cost and all. So they asked me two days time and after checking they informed me that they cant provide connection for me because of those issues.
One of my friend then suggested me to go for TATA Indicom Broadband. Since I wanted a reliable connection I want the connection from a best service provider in this field. When I went for this they collected money first from me as cash (Rs. 2100/-) and told me that they can provide connection within 7days. All this happened on 06- Mar-2006. But that wait lasted for one month. Every week I used to call the people who collected money, the answer was always same "Under Processing, Wait for Somemore time". It happened through out the month and by the starting for April, they told me that its not feasible for them also and they wil return my money in 20 working days.
The wait for getting my money back lasted for "five months". I used to contact the customer case people through mail and phone. And the interesting thing is that, being one of the best company in telecom domain, they dont have a TOLL-FREE number in customer care. A person calling is sometimes put on wait for 10-15 minutes for getting a little information. In the end they will tell another sentence "My Name is XYZ. I am filing a complaint on behalf of you. The complaint number is .....". For getting information about the complaint, we have to file another ten complaints..thats what happening there.
All this happened for 4 Months..in the end I lost my patience I visited the customer care directly. To my surprise I found another two people sitting there for similar issues. One person booked 4 months back and another 3 months. When I showed the bill, they checked in there database and told me that there is no such application entered. I was shocked to hear that. They told me to contact the person to whom I submitted money and application. When I contacted him and told this, he enquired and informed me that the application along with the DD is missed somewhere after reaching the main office.
In the end I got numbers of some top people in the office and through them I moved the issue. In the end I got the money from the people in main office when I said I am going to file a police case or moving to customer court. The interesting thing is that then they paid that money from there pocket. That was on 11-Aug-2006.
By my experience im not telling that this product is bad, but when u give your money make sure that you will get the connection. Everybody can tell the person to check feasibility before giving the money. One morething I would like to remind is dont pay cash. Give them Cheque or DD.
I hope my experience will help other to rethink about their plan for this service. I hope TATA will take care of there this area of domain and make it in such a way that in future there will not be any such complaints. "All the best for everyone"
