I took Tata indicom Wimax connection some 4 months back. This was not my first choice, but as I could not get Airtel connection at that time(Surprisingly!) I opted for TATA because of the brand value of TATA. I took connection with 4 months advanced payment (free installation), and was really impressed at that time with their response time for installation.
The connection was working within 24 hrs of applying(full process) and worked well for 2-3 days but after that I started getting trouble. As connection is wireless I was doubtful regarding its performance. And when trouble came for the very first time then I took it as minor problem and got it sorted with the help of customer care executive which took almost 40 mins. The problem didnot stop there it came back again and again and again.
I have checked the speed with many third party websites which give the speeds just half of what was promised. Moreover on contacting customer care regarding speed they recommend some site which gives good connection speed values.
The connection is highly unreliable, because of this I am fearful of shutting down my system. You never know that after how much time and trouble you will get connectivity.
Regarding customer care, it is really pathetic. Each call on customer care will be of atleast 30 mins duration because they will take you through a long procedure of troubleshooting. They will make you do every possible troubleshooting steps available with them. And guess what after 30 mins they will provide you some complaint no. (which never gets resolved) and thats it. Sometimes if you are lucky then they will transfer you to their technical team which will somehow connect you to the network.
Nowadays I am so experienced with all these that I never call there care center as I know more then their executives and get myself connected very quickly(5mins).
My overall experience of this product is frustating and I feel cheated and will not recommend this product to anybody. So readers keep off of TATA WIMAX Connection.
