Really impressed till date...... READ ALONG...

place : Bangalore, near Sarjapur road   Using Tata indicom Wimax since 8 months

Initially I started with BSNL data one with the rs 250, 1 gb download limit per month plan. Since I started playing online games, I wanted to change the plan to an unlimited plan. Just then road repair work started and all phone lines were dug up and the BSNL line went dead. Since I knew that it wud be months before they restore the lines, I started looking for alternatives. I wanted to go for AIRTEL. Since there was no AIRTEL line near my house, only alternative was a wireless connection since my house is on the outskirts of bangalore. Did some research on TATA indicom. most reviews were suggested not to go for Tata indicom since everything was bad about it. I had no choice so decided to go for Tata Indicom Wimax.

Called up an agent who came the very next day, collected documents and 2 months advance. 1 day later the installation people showed up. so very happy about tht.

PROS - 1)my plan is in 384kbps unlimited rs 1100 including tax. I get a speed of around 335kbps(speeds vary        according to the number of users using the same tower also. closer to the tower the better. btw I have worked on wimax project n now working on 3g. thts how I now). so speed are pretty good I wud say. No operator gives you the promised speed. Torrent speed is around 40KBPS(kilo BYTES not kilo BITS. also depends upon the number of seeds) 2)very reliable till date. in 8 months the connection was down for 2 - 3 hrs or so till date.

CONS - 1)have to login to tata indicom site every time to use the internet service. many times this pages does not load(loading of page is done automatically when you open the browser). So I restart the modem which takes about 5 min. then on it works fine.2) Rates are higher when compared to the recent plans of Airtel. Airtel offers 512kbps unlimited for 100 rs more. 3) uplink speed is capped to only 256kbps even for a 750kbps plan. not sure about other companies4) one more thing to add. the download stops after the session exceeds 10 or 11 hrs of continuous login(observed this while downloading stuff from torrents. downloading comes to a hault)

Fortunately I didnt get the need to call up customer service. heard its pretty bad. so just gave 3 stars based on that

to sum up -it has been working well for me. give it a try.
