I hope the below legal notice sent out to TATA is self explanatory on the type of services rendered by TATA. I had filed a complaint in the consumer court & am happy to inform that I got my money back along with penalty as per the judgement by Consumer court.

SUB: NOTICE BEFORE FILING CONSUMER COMPLAINT
Dear Sir,
This is reference with the Tata Indicom Complaint Ref: xxxxx.
This is Shivakumar from Bangalore & I do hold a Wimax connection of unlimited broadband. The details are as below.
Account Name: superkumars
Contact No: 99455xxxxx
I was not able to use my internet since 31-Dec-08 & further logged a complaint with TIC Ref:_____. A FE (Mr. Rajesh) visited my location on 31-Dec & did some primary investigations but was not able to locate the issue.
He again visited my location on 02-01-09 along with Laptop and a spare modem. He again failed to figure out the issue and went back stating he would return back with spare antenna since he suspects the issue with it. I felt ridiculous when he informed me through phone that the spare antenna is not available in the spares and he was not sure when exactly it would be available.
I felt more embarrassed when I called up the customer care & they informed me that the complaint was already closed stating " customer end PC issue". They even did not provide me the escalation contact numbers & quoted that the customer care is the single point of contact. A new complaint was lodged upon my request.
I even escalated the issue to Nodal Officer but unfortunately nothing has worked for me. Hence after a long wait of 9 days and poor response by TATA, I have lost the hopes of the issue being rectified & have decided to disconnect the broadband connection. I would expect a complete refund of my money (Advance Rental of 4 Months) which was paid during the installation. The amount is Rs. 3932.
Further I am providing you a timeline of 10 days starting from today to settle my grievance by refunding my amount failing which I will file a complaint with the Consumer Court as I am protected under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986.
Also please be informed that the consumer complaint will be at your cost and expenses, and I will seek compensation for the mental agony caused due to your deficiency in services.
Yours truly,
Shivakumar Chikkamath
