I have just bought Indigo CS Petrol last month. Based on my budget, I wanted to choose between Hyundai-10, Accent & Indigo CS(The new launch). I test drove i10 and found it nice. But driving experience was same as Santro which I had been driving for long time. Moreover I was concerned about its safety features. I was keen on Accent, but came to know that its production has been stopped and is expected to be phased out shortly. I could test drive Indigo CS Petrol as the sales person himself brought the car at my residence. The ride quality to my surprise was quite good, so I decided to go for it after thinking for a few days.
Cost wise Indigo CS is cheapest within the segment and there are reasons for it. Because of its length little less than 4m, it gets classified as small car, and the saving on excise duty has been passed on to buyer. They have also cut on power windows and central locking in base model.
Of course there are some aspects in which Hyundai cars are better. For instance Power steering is not as soft. Also I feel engine getting somewhat noisier in first & second gears, but I think one has to get used to of that especially when you have been driving Santro. The car scores high on safety. Its body is quite tough, and ground clearance is also quite good. Average in city is around 12-13 kmpl, alright but not great.
Overall it offers a good value for the price. A nice pick I feel for those who want to switch over or adjust to a bigger car without much impact on budget.
