Test drive Indigo CS - really a common man sedan

Hi,

After reading the reviews and others blogs about the newest and world first sub 4 mtrs  3 box car by TATA, I decided  check that physically. I have a Maruti  800 DX with 5 speed gear and I brought it second hand one and half years back. My family have 5 members including my 11 months daughter and it is very tough to accommodate all of us in my present car. So, on 15th August I went to my nearest dealer R.D Motors to have glimpse of it. I found the showroom was closed, but one of the sales executive come to me and show me a CS standing near by. I was surprise to see such a amount of space inside. Prior to that I also checked with Hyundai Getz petrol. But I feel the space is more than Getz.Since the showroom was closed I kept my number with them.

Very next Monday I got call and I fixed an test drive session with the person on next Saturday ie 23rd. I went there with my driver, but the impression was not good for first half an hour. The person came to me but asked me wait for 5 min, but I keep on waiting for atleast 20 min and then some one offer me some water. It took another 30 min to get the gate pass and other stuffs for the car. The driver rolled the key and I surprise to by the engine sound, the sound is less then of my 800 and not like convention Indica cab. He puts on  he AC after about 200mts drive . I was concentrating on the space and others features in the dashboard. But cant find any new thing, its just like Indica. The AC was pretty  good and then driver offer me to drive. After driving 800 for long all other car are best to me. But it is really good. Only problem I found is the steering wheel is smaller. The engine pickup good and it remains steady on 110 kmph. The sales excetuive told it will provide 14 kmpl with AC after all the service.  Since the road was very good I cant actually test its suspension. The another cons I found that none of its variants have power windows,

It doesnt have clutch footrest like Getz.

The Indigo GLs cost around 4.44 lacs on road on Kolkata, but dealer is not ready to give any discount on the model.

I am just to sell my old one and waiting TATA to offer bit discount on the price too,
