Tata motors launched the Indigo SX series few days back and after a Test Drive, I must say though the Power and Engine hasn’t changed much, apart from the few refinements, but the Suspension, Interiors, Engine noise have changed considerably!
The very first thing noticed - the car feels Great! The interiors are simply equivalent to a Skoda Octavia (Base Model) or Say a Chevrolet Optra. It doesnt feel the same old economy centred unimpressive car some people might look it as..
This new model features (up and above the features of a Indigo DX, which was the best model),
Turbo Diesel injection (TDi) system that has improved its performance and the reduced noise levels (Only car in the segment with TDi)
Full Leather Upholstery,
Rear seat mid Armrest
Electronically controllable mirrors,
Music System with Head rest LCDs,
Great exteriors on lines with the best in the class
And many minor improvements
These well probably the features missing in the Indigo to compete with the higher C segment cars, and ride in the car, clears it simply superb at a Price of rs. 5.7 lakhs (Diesel) (ex showroom). As compared to an Accent mid ranged car, the Leather Upholstery is the most formidable feature, and value for money rides along. The Indigo now comes with a Turbo direct injection (TDi) system that has improved its performance considerably as compared to Indica, and reduced the noise levels also.
Anybody who needs economy as well as ’Class’, would be highly recommended for this car.
