Dear customers,
Like all other customers, I bought a tata-indigo diesel TDi Ls model because of its value for money image.
I took the car in October 2005 from Automatrix in Mangalore. I had to buy from there as there are no other dealers in and around 150Kms.
Though I had read in one of the web sites that I had to look out for authentic tata floor mats, I didnt complain inspite of noticing that it was not a geniune one. As expected, it has worn out in one yr period. I did not complain, as I have to depend on the same dealers to do the servicing of the car.
The reputation of the dealer was not great, inspite of a good number of cars they used to sell. I didnt take the extended warranty, as I was told that the dealers will fool me when some genuine repair is needed.
I had water leakage into the car through left side doors, which I got repaired. But the problem persisted and they changes the back door beeding after which things were fine. I am yet to face the second monsoon.
My car was giving me a mileage of 10-11 kms in the city and 19-20km on the highway with AC being used intermittently. Once when the mileage dropped drastically(8 and 14 respectively), I went and got it improved. Now I get 10-11 in the city and 20+ on the highway.
The car has run 12500 Kms.
In my second service at 1yr/10, 000 Km they had to replace the kletch plate, which they did free of cost as it was covered under warranty. They stated that there was some oil leak.
As far as handling is concerned, I feel car is fine, but I have not driven above speeds of 100Km as I feel I am taxing the engine too much as the NVH is not great. As the other car which I have driven to a good extend is Hyundai Accent Petrol, I might be a bit biased also. Accent goes at 100kms+ before you realise that.
Also thergear shift is tight as compared to the Hyundai Accent.
One of the doors needs to be closed with force.
Plastics used and the central console needs definite improvement.
Car is really spacious, and the high seating of the car gives goo thing support for tall people.
AC is good and it cools the entire cabin nicely. AC vents should have been allowed to rotate down a bit more because it blows air onto face directly.
Boot size is good. Over all I rate that the car is good for the money which we pay for that. I have not heard any good comments about dealers. So over all I feel car is a good one as it is selling nicely inspite of such stupid dealers. But as not all the customers have the same opinion, I feel it the consistancy in maintainig the quality which the Tata comany has to address, if they want to lead the pack of Sedan available in India.
