For your info

I wanted a mid-sized diesel vehicle - there was really not much choice. Hyundai was not considered at all, because of a previous bad experience. Many Indica diesel owners that I spoke to were quite happy with the V2 that they had and I thought the Indigo diesel could only be an improvement.

When the car was new there were a lot of rattles and squeaks for which I had to keep going back to the dealer. But I used to easily get 550km on a full tank (with about 4-5 litres left in the tank).   Compared to the Indica, I found the car to be sluggish until the turbo comes on, which is only at 2500 rpm. I also had many starting problems which got fixed after many visits to the dealer. Also the engine would mysteriously shut off while running, or not start after a long run - this never got fixed by the dealer. Someone told me to get the battery terminals soldered, then it stopped happening.

Then the fuel efficiency started decreasing and I had to fill the tank earlier each time. Recently, I filled over 38 litres after going just 408 km (tank capacity 40 litres). The fuel efficiency has come down so much in a few months.

The dealer does not even accept that there is a problem, and so I am left with a vehicle that is costing me almost as much for fuel as a petrol vehicle.

Customer service is not about calling up a customer and asking about the service, as this dealer seems to think. It is about getting the problem fixed the first time, without having to go back again and again to get the same thing fixed.

I have reached the point where I am completely fed up and now want to sell the vehicle. I’ll wait to hear what Tata Motors has to say, but I think no more be Indian, buy Indian for me. Toyota is the way to go.
