RISKY CAR TO BUY

I have Indigo LS (Diesel variant)

Pros:

  1. Pocket friendly in terms of efficient fuel consumption. (mine is given me a mileage of 19-21 KMPL on Highway and 16-18 KMPL on city roads without AC)

  2. Comfortable and becomes more comfortable with full occupancy.

  3. Driving pleasure on highway (i.e. 3 gear onwards , Speed 50 KMPH onwards). In fact you feel that you are actually flowing a plane rather than driving a car.

  4. Effective AC.

  5. Good leg room and head space.

  6. Rear seat can accommodate 3 adults without any problem.

  7. Front and rear seats are comfortable. Front seats are in bucket shape that gives good rest to your back.

  8. Good grip on road till a speed of 100 KMPH.

Cons:

  1. Wiper blades makes lots of noise when in operation.

  2. Front seat assembly is hard to move back and forward.

  3. Gas paddle, Clutch and Break position is not appropriate. On long drives (more than 7 hrs) one can feel little stress on foots.

  4. Unnecessary high acceleration on low gear (1 & 2) even when gas paddle is not used. Switching on the AC doubles the problem. Sometime you feel the car is going out of control.

  5. Breaking distance is higher (not sure how much, never calculated) on high speed.

  6. Uncontrollable on speeds greater than 100 KMPH. (In fact I escaped narrowly once, on a speed of 120 KMPH)

  7. Starting problem. (Drive your car for say 40-50 km in a single stretch. Switch off and try to switch on again. It simply refuses to start. On highway the problem is more often as on long drives, you always stop after couple of hrs of driving to take rest). The solution I found is, switch on and off 3-4 times without giving ignition and then try. If someone has a better solution, please let me also know about this on bhavkalra@hotmail.com. In fact I am not sure whether this is some kind of problem with a part or general behavior of the car. Other solution is give atleast 30 minutes rest to your car :-) (Not possible sometimes)

  8. Car parts would start troubling you within first year of purchase and it is not like any other japanese "No Problem" car.

  9. City drive is a stress especially if you are switching from any petrol car. With AC on, it becomes a bullock-cart on 1st and 2nd gear.

  10. Higher fuel consumption on city roads with AC on. (Especially if you are in Delhi).

  11. Hard to close rear doors. Not very smooth. Most of the time doors are half locked. You need to push hard to close rear doors properly as compared to front doors.
