I have purchased Tata Indigo car a couple of years back. I got the car within days of ordering it unlike Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai or Honda which usually takes few months to be delivered. In the beginning Indigo was fine in aspects of comfort, mileage and maintenance. Since last 6 months its been in car garage on and off for various repairs. My car is a petrol edition. I brought petrol one cos I was told petrol cars are easy to maintain and do not need repairs often. I was wrong. petrol cars of Tata are no different from diesel engines as my car had lot of problems.
First there was problem with breaks - took two days to repair. Next problem with automatic window sliding as one of it stopped working.
Next there was a problem with the ac system. Surprisingly it stopped the next day, I got my car from the garage-- when I took it back to get it repaired they took another 3 days to repair it. It ran for a few days fine then there was a problem with the petrol pump and my car stopped suddenly in the middle of the road. I had to tow it on my own till the garage as the garage people dont even provide towing service. It had stayed there for a month the reason being they had no petrol parts available and they had to order it from Bangalore or Pune.
When finally my car was ready, after a month during which I had to suffer arranging mode of transport to and fro my office. On top of that they charged me nearly 25k for the repairs the reason being they had to get it from their main office. I DUNNO WHY TATA PEOPLE PRODUCE PETROL CARS WHEN THEY CANT PROVIDE NECESSARY PARTS WHEN IN NEED.
I feel they should stop producing petrol cars and just limit themselves to lorries and buses. According to statistics most of the road traffic accidents happen involve Tata Indica as its engine is poorly built for operating in speed or on slippery roads.
After my last repair in the garage I got my car back, cleaned it thoroughly and sold it off... I got myself a new Honda Amaze. Its an excellent car. I also forgot to mention the people in the garage including the manager are so mean, . they dunno how to behave with the customers. You get a feeling of talking to an uncivilized forest dwelling people when you talk with them.
One more reason for the long repairs is the garage is always full of cars need to be repaired. The cost of their parts (of which I doubt the standards) is very high. Service is poor. Comfort is worst as my car produced lots of sound which are disturbing (like when theres a loose nut or when the dashboard becomes loose and produces sound) very discomforting feeling throughout my journeys. I am feeling in my mind whenever I drive my car is why the hell did I pay so much for a car (when I actually get a feeling of driving a lorry inside my car-- with the ac on).
My suggestion to Tata people--- my car may be one of the many many cars you produce every year. But its the one and only car I drive everyday for years... Please do not let the consumers down by producing these cheap vehicle.. My advise to you people is to stop producing petrol cars and limit yourself to lorries and buses...
The people in service center are so horrible, they make you cry for buying a Tata car, to get it repaired and once you go to their service I guarantee they will make sure your car gets into troubles again and again.
