I bought Manza Qjet -ABS on Oct-11. Prior to this I had an Alto, which is a fabulous small car.
The buying decision of manza was very uncanny. Sedan was never in my list when my hunt started. It was all hatchback cars with a budget of 7 lacs. The leading contenders were Fabia and Jazz.
Dropped Jazz as the waiting was more than 3 months at that time. It’s a beautiful car, but it looks very delicate, may not be very good for Indian conditions in my opinion.
Fabia is decent looking car and was solidly built and overall good product. Had a series of discussions with Fabia dealer and finalised the car and the color. Was getting a discount of 30K, as the new model was getting launched with few new features added to it (My dealer didn’t mention about this upgrade, got to know though Google maharaj)
It was Friday when I asked the skoda dealer to send me the invoice for my booking. I waited for the invoice email until 5.30, no mail so left office early that day. His delay was like a blessing in disguise.
Next day (Saturday) I saw the all new Indica vista sedan class ad on TV. I liked the car and wanted to TD. Went to Aadya dealership on Hebbal ring road to check the new car. Unfortunately that day they didn’t have the TD car as all the TD car had been taken to Palace grounds for some show.
By God’s grace I got the chance to look into Manza. I was attracted by the front looks and the interiors of the Demo car (Dew white), I asked for a TD of Manza and the SA (Raj), helped me with the TD. The experience was good and the features were amazing at that price. The OTR of the car was 8.4 lacs (Quadrajet with ABS), which is very high compared to my initial budget. Did some maths and found the diesel subsidy will help me (my initial plan was to buy petrol hatchback).
Called my family to have a look at the car and every one liked it. My wife was very happy with the car’s space, interiors, and comfort of the car. My parents were happy but worried about the budget. With some explanation from my side they approved my decision. Came back home and took google maharaj’s help in taking the decision. Thanks to all the sites for their reviews.
All the home work done on Jazz and Fabia didn’t help finally.
No looking back from here on, got the invoice from the dealer and the car was booked?. Gave a booking amont of 25K to the dealer. Got the car checked in the stockyard, did some top level PDI, had taken my uncle for the same as he has more knowledge on the mechanical front.

Tata After sales,
Niggles.
So far I have completed 9000 kms and the car is due for 3rd service. By God’s grace the car has served me well so far.
There was one instance on 26th Dec, the car failed to start in the evening. Informed the tata road assist, the person came in 40min. Verified that the starter motor relay may be faulty. Had to push and start the car, sad. Car was taken to service station next morning in Aadya and the problem was diagonised to some electriacl issue (some loose wiring). Got the car delivered in the evening. This incident was really scary considering the niggles with tata.
After the 1st service I have noticed that there is some kharrr kharrrr sound in the front suspension when the car crosses some small humps, it doesn’t sound smooth.
The fuel economy is 14 to 15.5KMPL in city with tank full method.
I am loving this car for the all around comfort its providing. I would definitely recommend this car to other provided they are ready for some small issues initially. But please do your PDI thoroughly before sending it for registration.
