My ownership experience with my Indigo petrol Gls which I bought 3 years ago from Balaji motors thane has been most traumatic. Let me explain just after my first service a strange rattling noise from under the hood took me to the dealers who kept the car for a week trying to diagnose the problem. After pestering them repeatedly the said they suspect that the noise is engine related and as the vehicle is under warranty they would revert shortly.
The problem ultimately was some dirt in the fuel injectors as per them and after filling up the tank after draining solved the problem. For the next 2.5 years all went well with the car.
Last month on leaving the car idle for 15 days in my garage the car refused to start. On calling the service guys they took the car to Balaji motors they told me that the ECU of the car had packed up along with the battery and alternator. The bill amounted to 25000/-.
It came as arude shock to me . Is the life of the ECU only 2.5 years?. Tata needs to really do their homework regarding this.
After getting the ECU, Battery and alternator serviced the car ran ok for 15 days and then again the engine started to vibrate harshly and the car refused to go more than 50 km/hr.
The service center guys replaced the HT cable saying that that was the culprit . Cost 850/-
The problem disappeared for only a few hours and resurfaced again the next day.
Since the last 5 days the car is with Balaji motors and now they say one fuel injector needs to be replaced.Cost 1700/- The funny part is that this injector is not available in mumbai and has to be procured from Pune and is going to take a week’s time.
I am tired of all these problems .I promise not buy any TATA product again.Please highlight all these problems to all aspirants of the Tata Indigo petrol.
Poor Fuel efficiency, Horrible gearshift, coarse engine , average handling and pathetic service the only + points of the car is space and ride quality.
