I was looking for a Petrol Car since I didn’t like the diesel engine’s noise and smell. Also, I felt that I had to pay around Rs.30, 000 for a diesel model which is around Rs.5000 if I keep the car for 6 years. Since I don’t drive more than 30 Kms. a day, I don’t think I am going to save any thing big by buying a diesel car. In the middle range, I checked out Ford Ikon, Hyundai Accent, Maruti Esteem and Honda City. Esteem was good and the price was attractive, but it had a old look. And, Ikon and City were little expensive. Since I got around Rs.20000 as a discount from Tata, the price was attractive for the features.
I like the looks and quietness of the car. But, when I have a closer look at their finish in their form or shape, I feel that they have to improve on their fits. For example, if you see the trunk, they are not able to maintain the shape or fit on the edges. I added Power Windows and Power door attachment when I bought the car. I am not happy with Power Windows, since it gets struck rarely, especially when it rains. The repairing person says that he fixed it, but during the next rain, ....
Driving is smooth. I have gone for 8 hours trip with AC on. I didn’t have any problem. Driver Seat is not very comfortable, but its ok.
It is good for a small family. If you want style and elegance at an affordable price, it is a good choice. It is not a car for those who want to park easily on the road.
