My first Test Drive of TATA Nano

I am looking for a second car and did not want to spend more and decided to check out TATA Nano. Went to Prerana Motors on Lalbaug Road, Bangalore and enquired about Nano and came to know that they are providing test drive, that was great. Top end Nano was given for Test Drive

It was a short drive and could gather following points from driving:

For Nano

  1. It is very peepy, lot of power in first two gears

  2. Powerful AC Blower and AC cooled the Cabin soon, (It was evening and weather was cool)

  3. Good accelerator response even when the AC was on.

  4. Getting in and out was very comfortable.

5.Takes less space on road compared to Alto, Wagon R and A-Star

  1. Easy to Drive

7.Noise free cabin once all windows are closed

  1. Lot of Space inside

Against Nano

  1. Hard Steering in slow speed (I am not sure whether it has a power steering)

  2. Foot Pedals take few hundred meters to Adjust as the space between pedals is less.

  3. Average central locking system

  4. Plastics are average but no complaints against that

  5. Average Seats - they do the job

  6. Left side Mirror is a must - please provide and charge few hundreds more.

I will request a longer test drive before I decide to buy.

Dealer claim fuel consumption as 18-20 in city and 24 on highway.

Overall a good package.
