I have Tata Sky+ connection at my home and on 29th Oct they advertised offering HD+ connection for existing subscribers at 50% discount i.e. @1999 instead on Rs. 3, 999. When I called the call center to book I was put on hold for several minutes as the dept. was busy. Then the person who took my call said that we shall arrange for a call back and hung up. There was no call back that day. Next day I saw msg asking the subscribers to send sms if they have missed availing the offer previous day. I did that too and was sitting confidently that my connection will be upgraded to HD+ soon.


Today when I called asking about the progress I was shocked to learn that no booking was done against my account though their call registry does shows records of my call and about its reference. The person who took my call(Sourabh) also confirmed that yes I’m eligible for the offer based on the call records and then disconnected. When I tried again and spoke to a new girl(they change with every call as we all know) I was put to Ms. Maragaret who is the floor supervisor. She accepted that its Tata Sky fault that they didn’t called back or booked my HD+ connection but refused to help out since’offer is over’.


How absurd can this be on one hand you accept that its only because of their dept in-efficiency I am being deprived of the service I opted for but at the same time she can’t help me.


Its a pathetic customer service at Tata Sky and I am really ashamed for opting for their services now.

Good to report that after publishing my review Tata Sky fellows accepted their fault and supplied the HD+ connection at the offer prices. So far so good.


Recently they launched Star World Premier HD(SWPHD)channel, as I have subscribed for the Annual HD channel pack services I assumed I would be getting that channel too automatchandru021y as it was an HD channel but to my surprise they said it is a PREMIER CHANNEL and is not part of any package whatsoever including Mega Annual Pack wherein they clearly say that any new channel will be added automatchandru021y without any charges.Anyways since I didn’t had the Mega pack I didn’t argued much and asked for the annual subscription fee for the said channel and was told that monthly subscription is for Rs. 60 and annual for Rs. 500.Since my family wanted to watch new american serials I opted for the annual package and topped up my account with sufficient funds, I was asked to keep my set top box in On condition and wait for few minutes. few hours passed by but no result, called back, explained everything to the new guy/girl and he/she said that there is no request of that sort placed from my account but she will be glad to help and same process was repeated. One day passed still no SWPHDl, called again repeated the same exercise and got the same reply by now I was at my wits end and asked for the supervisor, she came on line after 10 mins saying she has investigated and the issue is that they are not able to give me yearly subscription as my base package(!) was for Half year only but then she said it was an issue at their end and she will try to sort it out by evening. Another day passed and same cycle was repeated and this time their Supervisor Mr. Mishra very patiently explained to me that they could not do the needful as my base package.:) I asked him if there is any base channel i.e. SWP non HD which I can subscribe to get the HD channel, his answer was no, I then asked that since this was a stand alone channel and not linked with any other package how can they decide that since my base package for entertainment channels is for 6 months they can not offer my full year subscription to the SWPHD. If I want to watch just one channel am I not free to do so? The icing on the cake was they don’t have the bi yearly option for SWPHD either so only option a customer has is to either take their annual package for all channels and then get subscription of SWPHD for a year on package price or pay monthly charges i.e. Rs 720 against package price of Rs 500 for a year’s subscription. Really Tata Sky when it comes to squeeze customer money out of customers, you people are really imaginative and shrewd. I have started looking for the alternate service provider and will switch as soon as my package is over and my suggestion to you people is not to fall prey to slick advertising and read MouthShut_Official reviews so that you know what you are getting into.
