TATASKY OR TATASCAM! BUYERS BETTER BEWARE

AUTOTEXTLIST

In mid December we were shown a demo for DTH, by TataSky, distributor, Prabhat Telecom, represented by Sandeep Singh [M- 9320701313] promising us:

  1. 120 channels

  2. ’Hallmark’ and ’Neo Sports’ which were shown and categorically assured

  3. Better and High Quality Audio reception

  4. "World Class" service backed by a 24x7 help line, and interactive help line and email complaint service

After installation this is what we got:

  1. Only 107 channels later increased to 108

  2. There was no sign of either ’Hallmark/Neosport" or Sandeep Singh

  3. Audio reception the less said the better-deteriorated, after turning on the maximum volume of the Tata setup box, in order to get the same sound as the cable the volume had to be increased three times

  4. Service:

a. The help line nos not accessible by an MTNL landline, only after      contacting the help line with cell phone & waiting/talking for 26 mins [& cell becoming hot], on asking them to call back they said: NO!

b. The interactive refused to accept the complaint after 12 attempts- only 13th went-Result NO RESPONSE

c.       An email sent to both TataSky and Prabhat Telecom on Dec 19, 2006 was not responded to both slept.

YOU DECIDE WHAT IS THE CLASS OF SERVICE , WORLD OR SOMETHING ELSE!

Ultimately, a letter couriered to both TataSky [post box address, there is no official address on any document] and Prabhat Telecom on Dec 19, 2006, asking for full refund as the sale of the DTH was made under false pretences, elicited a response. First a telephone call from a Mr. Tiwari, claiming to be a Director of Prabhat Telecom on Dec 22, 2006, who agreed that they made wrong promises and they would take back the equipment, repair the wall, and refund the money tomorrow, [which after one month of reminders/listening to many excuses, is yet to materialise]!

A call from TataSky [God knows where] by one Ms. Chaitali acknowledging receipt of the letter and accepting the fact that the sale had been made under false promises/pretences, but refusing to accept any responsibility for the same either to refund the money or even instruct their distributor to do the same.
