My name is Varun Chopra, I am a 2 day old customer of Tata Sky in Chandigarh.My initial experience with them remained bad, even though they are very expensive as compared to other companies and I picked them expecting better experience.
I filled online form for Tata Sky order. A customer care staff member(I think Puneet) called from Hyderabad. According to my order and choice of my packs he told me to pay amount through Credit Card on phone itself, this included annual subscription to Supreme Pack at discounted price of 1945/-. But when IVR system started, call got disconnected. It happened twice. Third time, I told him I dont want to pay on phone. I asked him to send me a link in email for payment so that I will pay on computer. Instead he suggested me to pay cash on delivery to which I agreed.
Now the point here is he never told me that cash on delivery will not give me discounted annual supreme package and I will have to pay 2420/- instead of 1945/-. He did not explain that and I came to know of that when installation was done. Their local dealer came next day and installed Tata Sky. He told me he cannot give me discounted package. I called up their customer service and Mr. Sahil(I think sales manager in Chandigarh) told me the same, that now I cannot get that. Mr. Sahil also put me on hold and told me he will be back in couple of minutes after discussing with his senior. Guess what, he never came back on phone. After waiting for 10 minutes I had to call back.
This is poor service and misinformation from Tata Sky. I will suggest you to consider Airtel which has better packs including cartoon and sports channels. Tata Sky sound little too greedy.
