I have been using Tata Sky for the last 2 months. Before even starting my review, I would like to comment on the Negative reviews given for Tata Sky. All those who have given negative rating have not experienced Tata Sky magic. Like one my friends (who joined Mouth Shut yesterday) gave negative rating just by speaking to an executive and most of the allegations that were made were baseless, for instance our friend wrote in the review that Tata Sky charges Rs. 200 + Taxes, the reality is for the first 4 months if you calculate, it only comes to little more than Rs. 180 p.m including everything.
The other point which was discussed at length was regarding Star Movies and HBO non availably. Well all the movie channels including Star Movies and HBO are very much available on Tata Sky.
The other query was related to the pricing of the future Packages, well I am sure whenever Tata Sky comes out with various packages their prices would definitely be lower than what is charged by other DTH providers and cablewallas.
One of my other friend gave a negative rating just because due to some miscommunication his installation was not done within the stipulated time frame. Well I can understand but there definitely was some sort of miscommunication, my Tata Sky installation was done the very next day.
Another one gave a negative rating since as per him Tata Sky is not providing all the channels which are being advertised. Well I don’t know which channel my dear friend is referring to as he did not say anything about the channel/s that were listed and not provided. For this I can only say I got all the channels that are listed by Tata Sky on their website and anyone can browse this list.
I wanted to write this review just because I do not agree to the baseless allegations made for a quality product which truly delivers. Most of our friends who have mentioned their discomforts have either not used this product or they are taking about some issues which do not exist.
Coming to my experience I am truly enjoying this service; you can clearly see the difference in picture and sound quality. Before going for Tata Sky I did a scrutinize the other option available Dish TV but even the Dish TV dealer who is a close friend of mine suggested not to go for Dish TV as their complain service management is pathetic and even on comparison of the equipments (STB, Dish etc) and price, Tata Sky is definitely a winner. This has been discussed at length in one of the earlier reviews posted by one of our friends.
Coming to complaint management system of Tata Sky, I truly had a great experience, one morning I was stuck on the main welcome screen and it would not go any further. I called up to register a complaint; the executive gave a complaint No. and told me that it would be attended within 24 hours. Well the Engineer came down after just 2 hours after registering my complaint and he fixed the problem within no time. The STB basically required the software update which he did immediately. I have not seen any other customer service acting so fast on complaints.
Overall I would definitely recommend Tata Sky other all the other options available.
