Very poor technical support / after sales service

My TATA SKY registration number is 1005439946 and my name is Kunal. Everytime we have a technical problem with TATA SKY, it is a nightmare to have it rectified. A recent example is given below:I called up the TATA SKY call centre on 21st October 2010 and registered a complaint with them regarding the SET TOP box.  My work order reference number given was 1-8015385819. An SMS was sent to me stating that at 14:20 hours, 22nd October 2010, technician will come and repair the same. Nobody turned up and there was no call either from TATA SKY. I called back TATA SKY on 23rd at around 11:30 AM and asked them why nobody had turned up and demanded to talk to the senior in charge. A lady by the name SWATI SHILKE said that the engineer would reach by 12:40 and if he does not reach, she will call back by 01:00 PM.


I asked Swati to give me the engineers name and number so that I can follow up directly. She reverted back stating that nobody is picking up in the maintenance department office which means that the engineer must be on the way already.  However, she was giving me complete assurance from her side that the engineer will turn up and she will call back herself to check up with me. Till 02:00 PM, nobody had turned up and Swati had not called back either. I called back TATA SKY again and asked for Swati.


She likely did not want to talk to me and I was told that she had already left for home although it was just 2 PM. Her deputy AMIT KAMBLE said that the engineer will come next day but after much pestering, he said that he will send someone by today evening. It so happened that TATA SKY engineer did come around 4 PM but on query he said that he was only an installation engineer who happened to be nearby and so he dropped in. After looking into the fault, the engineer by the name AMIT KUMAR said that he will come tomorrow at 10:30 and change the set top  box for a fee of 350 Rs/-. Nobody comes today i.e. Sunday (24th October 2010) and on calling up AMIT KUMAR at his number 9594167965, he tells me that he has been sent for some other work and is not sure that who will be coming to repair our set. One can get a fair idea from the above details that how things are working at TATA SKY and I would not recommend prospective users to try out TATA SKY because you cant trust what these people say. Shame on you SWATI SHILKE for telling lies and not having the guts to face up to your customers. I still have some respect for your deputy AMIT KAMBLE who did follow up and call back as promised by him although the matter is yet to be resolved.
