Ironically it is mainly during the rains that people stay indoors to watch Tv, and to our BIG HORROR, we have discovered the painful truth- rains and TATASKY are NOT made for each other.TATASKY SIGNALS ALMOST ALWAYS GO OFF DURING THE RAINS.WE GET THE MESSAGE’THE SET TOP BOX IS UNABLE TO RECEIVE A SIGNAL’ AS LONG AS RAINS CONTINUE. In a country like ours where the south and east receive plenty of rainfall for most part of the year, DTH will be a TOTAL FAILURE under the present situation.We have a very bitter experience already as it has rained considerably here in Kolkata in February this year, as it stands raindrops affect the DTH transmissions to avery large extent. So HOW does TATASKY claim itself to be’superior’ to cablewallahs? It is superior to cable wallahs in only one respect - promotions by zigmo advertisements- which are all tall talks and nothing else. Because of persistent rain disruption problems, they should have refunded us all the money we paid.
TATASKY and DISHTV stand nowhere near to CAS based set top box in terms of price, quality and range of channels available.Well you CANNOT get the same set top box to work for your cable connection and TATASKY as both are absolutely different.One user wanted to know whether TATASKY’s set top box can be used with our local cable operator to receive CAS based signals. Unfortunately the answer is abig NO .TATASKy’s set top box can be compared to CDMA mobile- whole set is very much dependent on the provider; cable settop box can be used across various cable operators simply by changing the digicard(similar to a GSM mobile SIM card). Once you buy a TATASKY connection, you are forever stuck with it-no change to any other operator is allowed using its settop box(and of course you can never get a refund, unless in exceptional circumstances, something which has never happened in the past). I have seen more than 200 DVDs in my life and I do not think that, excepting about 15-20 channels, none of the other channels deliver any good quality picture(at least not at all worth the Rs300/- monthly charges). https://indian-voice-overs.com/tatasky.html
The programme schedules also frequently display incorrect programmes.At least in places where CAS has been implemented, I do not think TATASKY at all is justified in charging the huge bill.
I am pretty sure that by the time the monsoon arrives in India, NOBODY(at least in the eastern and southern region) will recommend this TOTAL FARCE named TATASKY.
