I was a happy and satisfied customer of Airtel but when planned to buy my favorite LG Jazz it came only with Tata Sky and as I wanted multiroom he offered me two connections of Tata Sky free and lured by the offer I opted for Tata Sky.
As I have experienced airtel myself there are so many problems with Tata Sky I will mention few here.
Faulty online recharge: Recharged with 300 through online and even after 12 days today that has not been credited to my account inspite of repeated calls to call center, now they say recharge again those 300 rupees will come in my bank account back, god knows when
Cheating in the name of packages: on ESPN they were showing to subscribe sms a channel id to a number, I did the same to subscribe only ESPN and all of a sudden 2-3 sports channel started working. When inquired online it said I am subscribed to a sports pack which is 65 rupees per month without my knowledge. I had done the same in airtel and could subscribe only 1 channel, atleast they should tell in SMS what is the extra cost I will incur.
Show case Movies: the show case movies are excessively costly - in aritel different movies have different rates and highest it goes is 40 rupees, here every movie is straight 50 rupees that is too costly.
Pathetic User Interface: The user interface if you have experienced Airtel, you will find pathetic. It covers almost half of the screen and doesn’t fade off quickly also. Keeps on showing stupid showcase message in half of the screen.
Stupid Favorite options: favorites don’t have any categories - only 20 favorite channels can be selected - what is this, can’t I have more than 20 channels as favorite.
Weird channel categories: No distinction in channel categories( while surfing) in infotainment e.g. discovery and Nat Geo and new channel. Discovery is in news category and to switch it on you have to search really hard or remember the numbers - which I never did in airtel.
The favorite channels get added as 900+ channel numbers and so even if you set them as favorite and view them and start scrolling after favorite ends you will start seeing some weird out of number channels.
Every time you switch off the TV (even without turning off the power) and turn it on again, it starts on their CRAP default channel, which keeps on showing some stupid advertisement repeatedly.
Language preference for Discovery and Nat Geo is not stored permanently and everytime you turn the power off and turn on again, it again starts in default language.
When the current program started is not shown, so there is no way to find out (if watching a movie) that when this movie started and whether you have started seeing this in the middle or in the beginning and if you want to continue or not.
I have some 450 rupees in my account and to be candid I am only waiting for them to get over and seriously thinking to move back to Airtel.
