I bought Tata Sky about a month back and am generally happy with the product but the reason for buying was not exactly addressed. Basically, I live in rented apartment and need to relocate to new home every other year due to my job. I bought Tata Sky because my local cablewallah was asking 500 bucks just to reactivate the connection. I thought I would be spared of this reactivation charge every time I move since I would be owning the dish and set top box. But after buying I have realized that the contract agreement doesn’t allow one relocate the dish on your own. We have to ask Tata Sky engineer to do it. For which the company will charge Rs 1000. So what does that mean? Everytime I move I have to pay 1000!! And if someone goes ahead and relocates the dish without their consent and they come to know of it, then they would switch off the signmals for that box. So I wouldn’t recommned the product for those who have movable job or live in rented apartment. Go for cable or even Dish TV. (I heard they charge Rs 200 only for installation)
