I am in Silchar Distt in Assam and got TATA SKy installed after calling up their helpline. Everything went as per linkinparkfan review of TATA SKY and the quality was quite good. It rains heavily in Assam and the rainY season lasts for 6 months. So before buying it I asked the customer care number of times and also had a long discussion with their engineer that whther I will recieve the signal during heavy rains . I was fully assured that the signal would not get disrupted.
THE ENGEENIER ALSO SAID THAT LOT OF PPL IN ASSAM HAVE TAKEN THIS CONNECTION AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM. However today was the first rain shower after installation and as I feared the signal went Kaput. afterCHECKING The connections etc I rang up custometr care and they simply said that You have been misinformed, ACTUALLY THE SIGNAL DOES GO OUT FOR THE PERIOD OF HEAVY RAINS.
AND THAT THEY ARE SoRRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT THIS AMOUNTS TO CHEATING THE CUSTOMER, THEY SIMPLY SAID THAT THEN YOU CAN TRY RETURNING THE DIGICOMP TO THE DEALER ’IF HE AGREES TO TAKE IT BACK. I am now stuck with a device which will not work for almost six months in a year. MY ADVICE IF YOU STAY AT A RAINY PLACE LIKE NORTH EAST, KERALA ETC DONT BUY ANY KIND OF DTH. HOPE IT HELPS OTHERS AND PPL DONT GET DUPED. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE CABLE 24/7 THEN HAVE BETTER QUALITY BUT NOT BEING ABLE TO WATCH.
