VALUE FOR MONEY:


I recently bought a Safari Dicor Lx for its looks and sheer road presence. This car is a real bargain. EX showroom price was Rs.7.85 lacs. I paid Rs.55, 000 extra to the dealer. For this I got Body Colour bumpers, side & roof cladings. DVD player with four speakers and 2 TFT monitors and rear roof mounted air conditioning vents, aame as on the top end VX model which has an ex-showroom tag of almost Rs.12.5 lacs.


PLASTIC QUALITY ON THE CONSOLE IS POOR. I also own an Indigo Marina which uses much better plastics.


DRIVABILITY:


Its an excellent highway cruiser and can do a constant 80 - 120km on overdrive without changing gears. Though it requires a lot of gear shifting in the city. Specially changing to the 1st & 2nd gears from high speed is a bit tacky. The 1st gear is not sure. You have to get used to it.


FUEL EFFICIENCY:


The vehicle returns a constant 11km/litre in a combined city/highway cycle.


RIDE QUALITY & HANDLING:


Ride quality and handling is excellent for a vehicle of this size. Braking is adequate, though the brakes screech at high speeds.
