Its been my passion to own a Safari from past 3 years. I bought new Indica Turbo DLX June 2007 black color, compromising with my passion. I enjoyed driving Indica which is sure value for money but my passion towards Safari never came down. Thank GOD!! that I waited for Dicor 2.2L VTT to be launched.
I bought Safari 2.2L VTT - EX, Mineral Red color on 02-Oct-2008. Features: Alpine CD Player with speakers, Tubeless Tyres, Body colored side Caddling, Beige Interiors, Power Steering & Windows as well, Central Locking, double AC and many more...
I dont want to compare Safari with any of the competitors as they have there own advantages and dis..
This is my experience from 400 kms driven till date and comaparison is only with 3.0L. The new front grill does change the character of the car. Im not sure which one looks better (3.0 or 2.2), but I would prefer the Dicor 2.2 one. The driver seat has height and lumbar support adjustment. The AC is fine, but only because the front vents are placed better. The front and tail gate now feature kool scuff plates with Safari written on them.
Power is awesome and spacious as well. Mark presence on road and a head turner. Nothing can match itz style on Indian roads. Cant make out if engine is running when you switch to 5th gear. Easy to drive and nice view. Will have full control even while zig zag drving. Suspension is amazing.
Shifting gears is all OK . But its tough to engage 1st and reverse gears. The feel through gear lever is like moving a stick through half set glue :-).. Im not sure if this will be OK after couple of 1000 kms. Interiors disappointingly remain the same, plastic quality is a major concern. Closing doors need extra power.
Didnt come accross any problem till date and hope to update you all on my experience after 1000 kms.
Over all Im satisfied with the BULL. Check out the pic..
Please feel free to suggest on:
Is it really worth to use bull bars?
Please suggest which type of Sun film looks good with Mineral red color (I personally dont want to go for plantinum finish).
Enjoy your drive and always wear seat belts...
