Something to rave about...

Fell in love with it and bought it four years ago...have done 1.3 lakh kms...find it a fantastic SUV and still in love with it !

This car is made for highways....just sits on it like a hulk, but moves like silk. Hey bad roads are an Indian reality; this one is made to take them on. The recent JD Power rating recently has placed Tata Safari as No 2 in 38 cars in India. That says a lot for riding comfort and the fantastic suspension.

Ride in the city can be difficult with this car, particularly parking. People who are moving from a small car, particularly a petrol one will never like the ride straight away. Believe me, it is to do with Diesel engines not Tata Safari. Any diesel engine will be relatively sluggish compared to Petrol (I moved from Maruti 800 into Safari and suffered for some time from missing the ’take offs’).

People say its engine performance is ’poor’. But if you were take the BHP to Displacement ratio, this SUV comes out pretty much in top.

Maintenance is another area where this car has a problem and a solution. Per thousand part failure rate is high in TELCO cars I hear (in comparison with other cars). But the spare parts are relatively very cheap and therefore it kind of makes up.

A great day for me still is me, my safari, on an empty stretch of road (Ooty preferably)...splendid ride.

Rarely have I been so satisfied with any product....this is one helluva but kicking car which is smooth to ride and very very safe.
